Marguerite Vasconcellos - President
Marguerite is a Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist, Teacher of the Deaf and Speech/Language Therapist. She is employed by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit where she has recently established a resource room at Makefield Elementary School (Yardley) which emphasizes aural habilitation in an inclusive setting. She lives in Doylestown with her husband, Stephen, and two daughters, Korey (13) and Karla (12).

Louise Yorke - Secretary
Louise is an aural rehabilitationist and certified pediatric audiologist. She was a parent educator and parent infant teacher at Archbishop Ryan School for Children with Hearing Impairment in Norwood, PA. A graduate of McGill University, she is presently pursuing certification in Speech/Language Pathology at Temple University. Her professional goal is to work for the well being of all deaf and hard of hearing children.

Lisa DePamphilis - Treasurer
Lisa is the mother of two young daughters, Leigh Ann (6) and Larissa (4). Larissa received a cochlear implant at age 19 months. Lisa is active in all aspects of her daughters' education, and has served as a counselor to other parents of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Lisa serves as vice president and bookkeeper for her husband's (Rich) business.

Carmen D. Hayman - Board Member at Large
Carmen, who holds both M.A. and CCC-A degrees, has served as an audiologist at Children's Seashore House since March of 1991. She is the coordinator of the Cochlear Implant Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Professional affiliations include the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, the American Academy of Audiology, the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology, AG Bell, and Cochlear Implant Club International.

Paula Toborowski - Board Member at Large
Paula is a hearing support teacher with Colonial Northampton Intermediate Unit 20 in Bethlehem, PA. Paula has a severe-profound hearing loss and was educated in a mainstreamed setting.

This project builds capacity to ensure success for all infants, young children, students and youth, who are deafblind, or at-risk for deafblindness. Activities include:

  1. identification of children and youth who are deafblind or at-risk for deafblindness;
  2. supporting families through involvement in educational planning, access to training, family to family support, information updates, targeted mailings, web page information, and materials from an extensive lending library;
  3. training and technical assistance to enhance local capacity and expand partnerships with other local, state, and national agencies serving individuals who are deafblind.
